Description: During the month of September, first grade learned about families. They compared and contrasted similarities between their families and the Holy family. The students composed and typed paragraphs using Microsoft Word. These paragraphs included number words to indicate how many members were in their family. This data was used to develop an Excel Spreadsheet to create a pie chart.

Description: During the month of October, first grade learned all about pumpkins. They created the life cycle of a pumpkin using the program Kidspiration. In addition, the students composed and typed “Who Am I?” riddles using Microsoft Word.

Description: During the month of November, the first graders learned all about Thanksgiving. They completed a turkey glyph. Using the information from their glyphs, they created an Excel Spreadsheet. The Excel Spreadsheet included various graphs like a bar graph, pie chart, and even a donut chart! And that’s not all!!! First grade composed and typed their very own poems all about turkeys using Microsoft Word.
