Policies and
Procedures
Cathedral School will not discriminate on the basis
of race, color, sex, national or ethnic origin. Admission
priority is given to Catholic students. All other
denominations are welcome when space is available. All
students enrolled at Cathedral School must participate in Roman
Catholic Religion curriculum and attend weekly Monday Mass.
Once a child is accepted at Cathedral re-enrollment is not denied
because of affiliation with denominations other than Catholic.
Children entering
Kindergarten must have their fifth birthday by August 31,
2008.
Students must submit a copy of their Birth
Certificate, Immunization Record, Baptismal Certificate, and First
Communion Certificate (if applicable), at time of application.
Students applying in grades 1-8 must submit a copy
of their current report card and last year's report card as well as all
standardized test results (i.e. NC EOG, Writing, IOWA, etc.), at time
of application.
Applications without applicable
copies attached are considered incomplete and are removed from
registration order until complete.
Based on review
of the academic information submitted, students are either
accepted, declined, or placed on a waiting list. A waiting
list is kept through January 1, 2009. After that date,
those still waiting must reapply for the 2009-2010 school
year.
Students are admitted to Cathedral School
in the following order:

Children
of current faculty/staff of Cathedral School/Parish.

Siblings
of current students.
-
Parishioners
of Sacred Heart Cathedral
-
Parishioners
of other Catholic parishes.
-
Non-catholic
transfers from other catholic schools
- Non-Catholics
ALL NEW STUDENTS ARE ADMITTED TO CATHEDRAL
ON A SIXTY-DAY PROBATIONARY BASIS. This allows
parents, teachers, and administration to evaluate the student's
opportunity for success.
